Burning Permits

In order to apply for a Burning Permit, individuals must apply in person at the Swift County Sheriff's Office (open 24/7), the Appleton City Office or the Kerkhoven City Office during their regular office hours.  At this time, there is no cost for burning permits.

All citizens MUST contact the Swift County Sheriff's Department at (320) 843-3133 PRIOR to lighting any fires. By notifying their office, they will inform you if there are any bans in effect at the current time and also be prepared for calls they may receive reporting a fire.  This is for the safety of all our residents.
